Artist's Note:  "There's a secret kind of magic to dandelions.. underappreciated 'weeds' that grace the side of the road, just where the road needs proof of life.  This piece always feels like renewal to me. I remember painting it at the height of the spring dandelion explosion - knowing that I had only a few hours before it would wilt.  I'd left my studio at 2am or so, feeling defeated -- the underlying structure seemed so clear, but I felt I hadn't done it justice.. there was so little color on the page.  Yet when I returned in the morning, not only had the painting somehow done exactly what it needed to, but a fellow artist at the studio had let me know they adored it."
